Coconut Milk
This fragrance reminds me of a tiki bar in the Bahamas watching a bartender swinging a machete with great dexterity in his task of opening fresh coconuts. How he did not loose his fingers is a miracle. My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful adult coconut beverage, while our children sipped coconut milk from a straw and nibbled on the fragrant coconut meat. Irish Meadow
I had the privilege of being able to visit my father’s childhood home, Craddockstown Lodge and stud farm, in Naas Co Kildare Ireland for many years before it was sold and then later converted into a golf club. The land during the summer was filled with a mixed assortment of wildflowers and long grasses. I have great memories of running wild through the grasses, Inhaling the beautiful floral smells and aroma of fresh cut grass. This fragrance is mild and mellow, not overpowering. When I lived in the Saudi Arabia we travelled many times for family vacations to Dubai. It was a short plane ride and a great weekend get away. A visit to the Souk was high on my list of things to do. “Souk” or “Souq” is the Arabic word for market where any kind of goods are bought or exchanged. The spice Souk is one of the most popular souk’s in Dubai. It’s narrow passages are lined with small stores selling every herb and spice under the sun. The colorful array of spices and their heady aroma is tantalizing. You cannot get over the incredible number of spices that are available. You will find spices of all varieties. The air is filled with the pungent aromas emanating from the colorful sacks of cardamom, cinnamon, saffron, turmeric, chilli, curry, nutmeg, cloves and dried fruits. Fresh stock arrives every day transported by dhow from countries such as India, Pakistan and Iran. As you move on from one shop to another, you will be enveloped by these sensory delights. They also sell herbs incense and traditional medicinal products. The Indian Spice Souk’s today have not changed in centuries, it’s like stepping back in time.
